The investigation found that Officer Rodrigo self-initiated a traffic detail and had the desk enter it into the CAD system. However, utilizing the in-car GPS tracking record, it was determined that he was not on a traffic detail but traveling on Rt. 17 north and south to reach his required mileage for his shift. Additionally, the GPS record showed that during his twelve-hour shift, Ptl. Rodigo only patrolled 30 streets, the equivalent of 30% of the borough streets. Lastly, the investigation uncovered that Rodrigo attempted to have the dispatcher, who was working with him on the incident in question, alter her version of the event to indicate that she made an error with her entry into the CAD system.
