Every factual claim on this site traces to a specific row of a New Jersey Attorney General public data release. Interpretation (report-card grades, benchmarks, the radio-encryption analysis) is labeled as analysis and its method is published. Source-anchored content is quotable and citable. ## Data provenance - Publisher: New Jersey Office of the Attorney General (major discipline and internal affairs releases). - Coverage: major discipline 2020-2025; internal affairs 2021-2025. - Radio-encryption flags: PoliceRadioEncryption.com, matched by municipality and county. - Salary/pension: New Jersey Department of the Treasury (YourMoney PFRS/SPRS, as of 2026-03-31), linked to named officers only at high confidence (exact name plus exact employing agency); lower-confidence matches are withheld. - Staffing: FBI Law Enforcement Employees (LEE) census, full-time sworn/civilian headcounts as of October 31 each year, matched to named agencies only at high confidence; lower-confidence matches are withheld and unmatched agencies (all county corrections and sheriff's offices, structurally) show no fabricated figure. A request records what somebody asked for, never a finding against an agency, and request statuses are set by the requester rather than the agency. Where a department has no listing of its own, only requests whose subject line indicates policing are counted, so the figure is a floor.
