Officer James was assigned to a hospital detail at SPUH from 2300hrs on July 16, 2024, to 0700hrs on July 17, 2024. During the shift, Officer James left her post three different times totaling in excess of one hour and seventeen minutes. When Officer James leaves her post, she is seen on video exiting the ICU Unit on the 5th floor, leaving the 5th floor itself, exiting the hospital building and walking outside away from the building. Officer James is also observed on video wearing a non-issued sweatshirt while on duty and not wearing her department issued body armor or her body worn camera.
