Corrections
Corrections and removal requests
Every claim on this site is checked against the official record. If a page gets the record wrong, it will be corrected. Here is how the process works.
If this site misstates the official record
Use the form below, or email [email protected] directly. Every fact on a page carries a numbered source note naming the file, sheet, and row it came from; referencing that note speeds the check. Claims are verified against the cited source file, and pages that misstate it are corrected. A note recording the correction is added to the page.
If the official record itself is wrong
This site republishes what agencies reported to the New Jersey Attorney General. It cannot change the underlying government record. If you believe the reported record is itself in error, the correction has to happen at the source: the reporting agency or the Attorney General's office. When an updated official release changes a record, this site regenerates from the new release and the page follows automatically.
About named officers
Officers are named on this site only where they are named in the Attorney General's major discipline releases, which cover final, post-appeal discipline. Values are shown exactly as reported, alongside the AG's own caveats (see methodology). Requests to remove accurately reported public records are generally declined; requests tied to a demonstrated error in the official record are handled as corrections, as above.
About salary and pension figures
Where an officer page shows a salary or pension figure, the amount is as reported by New Jersey Treasury, but the link between the officer and that pension record is an inference: a records-based match on name and employing agency, not a certified identity. If a compensation figure is attached to the wrong person, tell us and it is removed. Unlike a disputed discipline record, a mismatched pension figure is taken down on request and kept suppressed, because the association is ours, not the official record's. See how these matches are made.
