Special Officer Megan Reilly was terminated for violating Departmental rules and regulations. 4.1.1 Performance of Duty, 4.1.3 Obedience to Laws and Rules, 4.1.8 Compromising Criminal Cases, 4.12.6 Truthfulness. On or about July 11, 2022, Employee and her fiancée©, were alleged to have created a fake Bill of Sale for a jet ski that her fiancée© purchased in or around Dec. 2021. On July 14, 2022, Employee was interviewed by the Cape May County Prosecutor€™s Office in the course of the investigation into the aforementioned conduct. During said interview, Employee was untruthful to the investigators on multiple occasions as to her knowledge of and involvement in the underlying conduct that led to the allegations. Moreover, the underlying conduct of Employee which led to the investigation would also justify the above charges regardless of whether criminal charges were brought.
