Employer has investigated a violation of the Camden County Police Department’s Rules and Regulations involving Officer Richard Gallagher #948 under Internal Affairs case number 24-147. On May 2nd, 2023, Officer Gallagher failed to respond to an assignment. When a supervisor on scene observed that he was not there, several attempts were made to locate him with negative results. Officer Gallagher eventually contacted a supervisor via phone and when questioned about his whereabouts, he advised the supervisor that he was at the district house parking lot, sleeping. During his interview, Officer Gallagher admitted to driving to that location with the purpose of going to sleep due to being tired. Officer Gallagher was given a fourteen (14) day suspension held in abeyance for one year and 90 days monitoring by his Commander.
