A Newark Police Officer, working as a security guard at the Twin City Supermarket, 611 Broadway, shot and killed Carlos Ribot when Ribot allegedly pulled out a handgun and tried to rob the store. The officer shot Ribot once, and he died a short time later at University Hospital in Newark.
