In August of 2022, Officer Sheilds revealed to Internal Affairs officers that she vindictively revealed confidential information to the family attorney of a suspect in order to cause damage to another officer. In December of 2022, Officer Sheilds was conducting an investigation of domestic disturbance at which time she made derogatory remarks to one of the parties regarding having relations with their first cousin. Officer Shields’ conduct was found to be unbecoming and she was placed on suspension with the intent to terminate in March of 2023. A hearing officer upheld the her termination which was pending appeal until 2025 when the appeal was dropped by her.
