On February 19, 2022, an arrested individual ("K.P") under Ptl. Custody made numerous requests for medical attention and transportation to a hospital for an eye injury. Ptl. Cappello refused the requests and failed to obtain medical treatment for K.P. While transporting K.P. to the Passaic County Jail, K.P. advised Ptl. Cappello that he would kill himself and he continued to refuse to obtain medical treatment for K.P. Ptl. Cappello was suspended for twenty days.
