Between February 22, 2025 and March 5, 2025, Officer Rettino (off-duty) was handed a credit card that was not his, by an employee of a restaurant, Rettino placed that credit card in his wallet and then used that same credit card several days later. Upon investigation he was charged of 2 counts credit card theft 2C:21-6C(2) – receiving / retention and 1 count of fraudulent use of the card 2C:21-6H – All 3 allegations were sustained. Placed on paid suspension pending the MCPO investigation. In lieu of termination Officer Rettino retired, entered a Pre-trial Intervention program and will not seek re-certification as a police officer with the PTC.
