On June 25th, 2023 the officer was arrested and charged with shoplifting and underringing while off-duty, in civilian attire, at a Walmart in Brick. Officer had been observed on surveillance at self-checkout not scanning all of the items in the cart before leaving the store. Further investigation revealed that this was not the first time and officer was charged with 2 additional counts of shoplifting from different dates earlier in the month of June. The amount of items for all 3 shoplifting incidents totaled more than $200.00. Officer resigned as part of an irrevocable separation agreement.
