On September 1, 2020 Officer Fernandez was advised that the PBA was no longer permitted to use a County vehicle for take home purposes. On September 15, 2020 he began taking the vehicle home again. On 9/18/20 and 9/23/20, he requested the dispatchers utilize the CJIS system for an unauthorized purpose, namely by running full disclosure license plate look up on private property because cars were parked in a space which he considered to be designated to him. On 10/7/20 Off. Fernandez parked the county vehicle, blocking several vehicles and a handicapped parking space. He then left in another vehicle with the keys and ignored radio and phone calls. On March 1, 2024, Officer Fernandez was suspended for 35 days.
