In August of 2022 Officer Deeb, while assigned to the Patrol Division violated several use-of-force core principles in the attempt to arrest a suspect wanted in a stolen motor vehicle investigation. Officer Deeb also violated policies related to the deployment of his department-issued Conducted Energy Device during the arrest. During the deployment Officer Deeb mishandled the device, he dropped it exposing risk to himself and the other officers involved. Once the subject was placed in handcuffs Officer Deeb continued threats to use the device.
