On 11/16/24, Correctional Police Lieutenant (CPL) Alvaro Castro responded to an emergency code incident at East Jersey State Prison wherein two incarcerated persons were fighting. CPL Castro reported to the infirmary where one of the incarcerated persons reported that the other tried to rape him. CPL Castro failed to report or document this Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) allegation. CPL Castro signed a settlement agreement on 2/5/25 for a 45-day suspension.
