In a separate 2024 matter, the Department of Corrections suspended Senior Correctional Police Officer Emea Chery for 10 days. An August 1, 2024 investigation determined that Chery was insubordinate to her immediate supervisors when she refused to answer a question about a threat made toward her. When a sergeant later called her by phone seeking the same information, she again refused and stated she would answer only in front of a union representative. On August 1, 2024 an investigation determined that Officer Cherry was insubordinate to her immediate supervisors. Specifically, she refused to answer a question relating to a threat made toward her. Officer Cherry was then called over the phone by a Sergeant where he also tried to gain information about the threat made towards her. Officer Cherry again refused to answer the questions asked to her by her supervisors and stated she would only answer questions in front of a Union Representative.
