On 7/24/25, South Woods State Prison’s Senior Correctional Police Officer (SCPO) Michael Delmonte was advised by a supervisor that he was being mandated at 2:20 p.m. for post in housing unit 2-2-L. SCPO Delmonte responded "negative" to the supervisor. SCPO Delmonte requested a relief and was told there were no officers available to relieve him at that time. SCPO Delmonte then broke the chain of command and contacted Operations asking for a relief. At 4:00 p.m., SCPO Delmonte was relieved. SCPO Delmonte left the institution without authorization and without completing early release paperwork. SCPO Delmonte was issued a Final Notice of Disciplinary Action for a 10-day suspension on 10/3/25.
