On 11/3/25, an administrative investigation revealed that East Jersey State Prison's Senior Correctional Police (SCPO) Marquise Fleming had made unprofessional and inappropriate posts to his public-facing Instagram account. The posts addressed the recent murder of a popular activist in a disrespectful manner, in particular, noting public opinions the activist had taken regarding race. As a result of the investigation, SCPO Fleming was charged administratively for the violation of NJDOC Rules and Regulations related to the NJDOC Social Media Policy. On 11/7/25, SCPO Fleming signed a settlement agreement for a 30-day suspension.
