On April 8, 2025, Garden State Youth Correctional Facility Senior Correctional Police Officer Robert Tourre coordinated and participated in a social function on the grounds of Central Office Headquarters without permission from his supervisor, the Department of Corrections reported. During the investigation, Tourre knowingly provided the Special Investigations Division with false information about the function. Synopsis as reported by the agency

On 4/8/25, Garden State Youth Correctional Facility’s Senior Correctional Police Officer (SCPO) Robert Tourre coordinated and participated in a social function on the grounds of Central Office Headquarters. SCPO Tourre did not obtain permission from his supervisor to participate in the social function. During the course of the investigation, SCPO Tourre knowingly provided the New Jersey Department of Correction’s Special Investigations Division with false information concerning the details about the social function. Finally, on a separate date, SCPO Tourre met with an outside party on the Garden State Correctional Facility grounds for approximately 20 minutes while SCPO Tourre was on duty and did not properly obtain permission from his supervisor to do so. SCPO Tourre signed a settlement agreement for a 15-day suspension on 7/11/25.
