On 11/12/24, New Jersey State Prison’s Senior Correctional Police Officer (SCPO) Yahaida Figueroa was working her post on 7 Right, 5 Tier on Unit B. An investigation revealed that SCPO Figueroa did not complete her unit tours or counts per New Jersey Department of Correction's policy. SCPO Figueroa's negligence resulted in a serious injury to an incarcerated person not being reported. The injury left the incarcerated person with significant burns on his body. SCPO Figueroa signed a settlement agreement on 5/21/25 for a 60-day suspension.
