On 11/12/23, New Jersey State Prison’s Senior Correctional Police Officer (SCPO) Iban Pasha left his post unattended for excessive periods of time. The time periods he abandoned his post were from 8:00 am to 10:20 am and 11:15 am to 1:26pm. SCPO Pasha's absence left his partner without assistance and contributed to an incident where an incarcerated person was splashed by another incarcerated person with an unknown substance. The splashing caused serious burns to the incarcerated person's arms, face and body. The incarcerated person's injuries were not reported and he did not receive medical attention until 11/13/23. In addition to abandoning his post, SCPO Pasha failed to report serious bodily harm to an incarcerated person, opened a main gate, allowed an incarcerated person to feed others mess without supervision and was not present for a count. SCPO Pasha signed a settlement agreement for a 90-day suspension on 1/16/25.
